Vine Nest(s)

This piece marks my first exploration into etching, experimenting with aquatint to build depth and texture. The 12” x 12” plate is printed on 14” x 14” BFK, while the digital version is transferred onto 11” x 14” Thai Kozo paper, emphasizing the interplay between traditional and contemporary processes. The imagery draws from the complexity of nature, particularly the intricate structure of nests—woven, layered, and resilient. Like a nest, this print is a study in accumulation and balance, reflecting the delicate yet persistent forces that shape the natural world.
